Artwork Guidelines
Here are some guidelines to enable you to submit the best quality artwork you can. A basic list of requirements is shown below, along with good and bad examples to highlight the differences. We want to ensure you that we will achieve the best possible reproduction of your submitted artwork.
PREPARATION OF SUBMITTED ARTWORK
Artwork can be submitted as traditional art or digital art, in black and white or colour, making sure you specify exact Pantone references. If you cannot quote exact references then the closest Pantone match will be chosen. Preferences of file types are as follows with Vector-based artwork being the preferred format:
1. VECTOR-BASED ARTWORK
- .ai (Native Adobe Illustrator file type)
- .eps (Encapsulated PostScript file type)
- .pdf (Portable Document Format file type)
If you are only able to create your artwork in Corel Draw then please ensure you convert it to a ‘.ai’ file.
If saving artworks as any of the above file types, PLEASE ENSURE that all fonts are OUTLINED. This then becomes a VECTOR-BASED artwork within an outline created of all the fonts used within your document. We do have a comprehensive font database but cannot guarantee that we possess the exact font/s you have used. An example of how an outline created font looks like is shown below, along with details of how to do it within the Adobe Illustrator application.

2. IMAGE FILES
- .jpg (Joint Picture Expert Group)
- .bmp (Bitmap)
- .tiff (Tagged Image File Format)
- .png (Portable Network Graphic)
- .psd (Photoshop Document)
All files using any of the above types must be supplied at a minimum of 300dpi (dots per inch), anything less may result in a poor quality product being produced.
Make sure your text field is highlighted in order to create outlines, then go to ‘Type’ in the Adobe Illustrator menu and scroll down to ‘Create Outlines’. A shortcut for this command is: Shift+Command+O (Mac) or Shift+Ctrl+O (Windows)
